Hotels in Reggio Emilia

Reggio-Emilia is not normally on the tourist map, although we have included it in our guides and advice. However, Reggio-Emilia is a place where many people travel to study pre-school and nursery education. The Reggio-Emilia approach is known across the globe and is a popular approach advocating a student-centered and constructivist self-guided curriculum. So for those students, and parents of those who will be visiting Reggio-Emilia, we thought we would put together a short blog on a few hotels in the town.

Whilst you won’t find five star accommodation there are some good places to stay as well as places for those on a budget.

Albergo delle Notarie – This is one of two hotels that we will cover that is at the high end of quality in Reggio-Emilia. The hotel is situated in the heart of the town centre and offers private parking, a fitness area, wi-fi, and the possibility to bring along your pet. There is also a great breakfast on offer at the hotel. Clip here for their website

Albergo Posta – The second high end hotel offers similar facilities and services and is housed is a very historic building. This hotel is also in the heart of the town centre so is convenient to get around without the need for a car. Again there is a gym, private parking is available with electric charging, free bikes to get around the town, wi-fi, and another great breakfast. There is also a very cosy bar in case you fancy an aperitif or cocktail. Click here for a link to the hotel.

Mercure – A mid range hotel from a larger chain is the Mercure. This hotel is a few minutes from the centre of the town but you certainly won’t need a car. It offers all that you would expect from a mid-range chain hotel but is of a size that it can also cater for conferences and larger meetings. The rooms are well presented and you can guarantee a comfortable stay here with a good buffet breakfast. To go to the hotel website click here.

Albergo Ariosto – An excellent choice if you are on a budget is the Albergo Ariosto. It is well placed in the centre of the historic centre and convenient for local attractions, shops and restaurants. There is free wi-fi available as well as free parking for those arriving by car. There are a variety of rooms available so if you are travelling as a larger group then there could be some options available for you here.

Student’s Hostel Della Ghiara – This is more for students but they do take bookings from non-students. As students are often on a budget the price caters for this although there are a selection of rooms. The hostel is in the heart of the city so there will be plenty to do if not meeting other people staying at the hostel, there are 100 beds available. The rooms a simple but clean as you would expect from a hostel. It includes breakfast and has wi-fi, laundry facilities, a car park, left luggage, a restaurant and a tourist office.
